My Story

This year cousins Christine and Elaine are taking on Wadi Rum for COCO – It would be amazing if you could support us on our100km desert challenge! You may not of heard of CoCo but you will know the Chairman and co-founder Steve Cram CBE.

We are funding the trip ourselves, so every penny donated by you goes to COCO charity!

COCO is a children’s charity that provides sustainable sources of quality education to children living in poor and marginalised communities in East Africa, informed by the belief that education provides children with the best possible chance of breaking the cycle of poverty. COCO focus on more vulnerable groups including women, girls and orphans, in hard-to-reach areas, often in extremely rural locations. COCO envisions a world where every child everywhere has access to quality education, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, or economic circumstance. This vision is at the core of COCO’s current work in Kenya and Tanzania.

Christine is  taking on this challenge because everyone needs an adventure to celebrate turning 50 ... either that or I am having a mid-life crisis!

Christine is raising funds for COCO because as a trustee of the charity I see the positive results the funds make.  Every small donation makes a difference.

Elaine is taking on this challenge because Christine "encouraged" her sign up! Its a chance to team up with Christine to take on a challenge that is completely out of her comfort zone (heat, reptiles & insects) and help others in the process.

Elaine is supporting COCO because having volunteered in a rural school in Kenya, she knows how important a basic education is in Eastern Africa, something in the UK we for granted.

Anything you can give will help CoCo in the work they do to create brighter futures in East Africa.

Thank you!
